Curly Hair Routine: The Curl Cream That Changed My Life

Caring for my curls can be a mission. It’s time consuming and can be overwhelming knowing what products to use depending on the state of my hair. I will admit I often straighten my natural curls just because it’s easier (RIP curls). Over time my curls have changed and aren’t as bouncy as they once were due to heat styling. For context, currently my hair is super dry, bleached and very long.

I do love embracing my natural hair… as my best friend calls it my ‘Beyonce hair’ – is there a better compliment than that? So, over the last few years I have tried almost every ‘curly girl’ product Le Beauty stocks.

I could go on forever about my favourite products but the OG that has lived in my bathroom vanity for nearly two years is the OSMO Curl Hair Fluid. I can be super lazy with my hair routine so sometimes I’ll wash it, chuck this in and let my hair dry naturally and it STILL gives my curls definition and great texture! My natural curls have been given life again, they’ve come back from the dead and it’s thanks to OSMO Curl Hair Fluid.

My current Curly Hair Routine:

STEP 1 – WASH

My favourite shampoo at the moment is the Matrix Biolage Hydrasource Detangling Solution. I leave it in for 2-3 minutes to get most of the knots out without combing.

STEP 2 – CO-WASH

For my second shampoo I use the Davroe CURLiCUE Cleansing Clay. I love the thicker consistency of this product and how it feels in my curls, plus it smells delish – imagine a really nice spa day.

STEP 3 – CONDTION

For conditioner I use the Wella Professionals Fusion Intense Repair Conditioner. Also great for detangling, it leaves my hair super soft. Once applied I comb the product through and ensure I have no knots or tangles left in my hair. PSA: Wella’s Fusion range is also MAF’s queen Martha Kalifatidis’ fave shampoo and conditioner.

STEP 4 – SEMI-DRY

After the shower I plop my hair in a hair turban. I use the Davroe CURLiCUE Rapid Dry Hair Wrap and leave it on for about 30 mins, so my hair is still a bit damp.

STEP 5 – TREAT

This is where the magic happens. I spray the OSMO Effects Wonder 10 Leave In Hair Treatment onto my hair and generously apply the OSMO Curl Hair Fluid. I comb the products through my hair, then use my hands to break up my curls, scrunch the products into my curls and then add another small amount of the Curl Hair Fluid.

This is by far the best curl product I have used, and it’s been in my hair care collection for over two years so that’s saying something!

STEP 6 – DIFFUSE

On a low heat and speed, I hold my diffuser directly next to my curls and slightly tilt my head, moving the diffuser around each section of my head. I’ll then part my hair in the middle and lift the diffuser up towards my roots, holding it still for as long as I can (at least 30 seconds).

STEP 7 – FINISH

I basically drench my hair in the Alterna Infinite Color Hold Topcoat Spray, not so it’s wet again though! Not only does it smell amazing, it gives my curls the most beautiful shine and a plus is that it protects your colour too!
