I've only used this for a week. Thus far I like the way it feels on my hair. I use a pump after I get out of the shower and before my styling mousse. I like the way my hair feels when I apply the styling mousse. I can't attest at this point if it will help hold the color. I like the feel of my hair after I style it and it does feel softer. I live in a very dry climate so year-round my wavy color-treated hair is dry and frizzy. I started using this serum in the shower adding 5 pumps to my existing conditioner and leaving it in for 3 to 5 minutes. I could immediately noticed a difference in my hair texture. It was smooth and soft but also had body. I am very impressed with this serum/gel. After only one use my hair was shiny and had way less frizz. I love that it has color and heat protection. I also used a few pumps before curling my hair with the curling iron and saw a noticable difference in the smoothness while keeping the hold of each curl. I will contiue to use this serum either in the shower or as an after shower leave-in treatment to see if I also get the color-hold benefit over time. I have naturally curly hair, but I also straighten sometimes. I used this serum in the shower mixed with my regular conditioner (can't use their conditioner due to dermititis). 6 pumps like the bottle says and I could feel the difference when rinsing out the conditioner, felt much softer. I let my hair air dry and I could see the difference in the frizz level for sure. Very pleased. I also used in the shower and then dried my hair and straightened it and I could also see the difference in how smooth and shiny it was.
