Anyone else considering marrying their hairdresser just to make them part of your bubble? No, just us...?
Whether you're living in Melbourne or just choosing to shelter in place, you've likely found yourself with a bit of separation anxiety from your local salon. To help you cope, we've put together 4 tips to take care of your hair during lockdown.
1) Slow down on your hair washing routine
One of the benefits of being bored in the house is that you don't have to see other humans. Living in lockdown gives us the rare opportunity to tackle an entire workday whilst looking completely socially unacceptable.
Save your hair washes for the days you need to be on Zoom meetings. Spreading out your washes gives your natural oils a chance to accumulate and can provide great moisture to your hair when brushed or combed through. If you find yourself in a pinch, you can always toss on a bit of dry shampoo to suck up some of the oil while you wait for your next wash day.
2) Try coloured hairspray to hide your roots
If you live in VIC, odds are you're pretty damn overdue for your colour by now. Even if you're a lucky Queenslander you may be facing hella long wait times to book in with your stylist. Keep your roots under control with temporary coloured hairspray from L'Oreal Professionel. Think of it like tinted dry shampoo to conceal your regrowth. This product also doubles as a thickening spray and helps hide sparce areas.
3) Give your ends TLC while you wait for a trim
Now that you know how to temporarily hide your sad roots, how about a little help for your ends? Many of us are overdue for a trim at this stage but please, for the love of lattes, do NOT cut your own hair. We've seen a few too many of these "I trimmed my boyfriends hair during iso" fail videos to simply stand by and allow these tragedies to take place.
We know your ends are in need of some love, but instead of chopping them off, try out these products to protect them! The Schwarzkopf Professional Peptide Repair Rescue Sealed Ends treatment targets damaged hair and creates a protective barrier against split ends. The Schwarzkopf Professional Hyaluronic Moisture Kick Spray Conditioner helps to seal in moisture and bring life back to dehydrated hair.
4) Toss on a hair treatment while you WFH
As we said, the cool thing about being stuck at home is that very few humans are around to have an opinion on your appearance. Whilst your coworkers also shelter in place, take advantage of the alone time and rock a repair treatment while you work.
