I'm a Beauty Therapist & Here's How I Combat My Dry Skin

As a Beauty Therapist of 9 years I have tried many different products over the years. Trying multiple products, believe me, when you know – you know! Especially when it comes to finding products that actually work and don't cause sensitive skin to react negatively.

One of the most common skin concerns people have is dryness. Dryness can be the result of a number of things including dry air, long hot showers, medication (including Salicylic acid and Retinol), age and genetics. I'm no exception, my skin is naturally quite dry and sensitive.

Chances are you haven't heard of the brand I'm about to gloat about as it's just landed in Australia. It was founded in Barcelona, Spain and is about to blow your mind! It promotes natural ingredients with skin-based concentrate formulas so they really work. Boy am I in love!

This range is not only affordable, it also does what is intended. This would be a great range for anyone who is time-poor due to its simplicity, and also for those who don't want to spend loads of money on products but also doesn't want to succumb to supermarket products. As we all know, they don’t really do much anyway, and can sometimes cause more harm than good.

The stand out products of the range for someone like me with dry, sensitive skin is the ‘Skin drink serum’ and the ‘Glow Maker’ moisturiser.

As a beauty therapist, it's important to understand the ingredients - what are you actually putting on your skin?!

Faebey Skin Drink Serum

Hyaluronic acid – It's an intense hydrator. Is naturally occurring and attracts and holds onto water in your skin. Keeping skin plump and hydrated.

Matrixyl – This stimulates collagen production, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Glow Maker Moisturiser

Vitamin C – An antioxidant that protects your skin from free radicals, it brightens and reduces the signs of aging.

Argan Oil – A powerful moisturising, protective and restorative oil. Containing essential fatty acids and vitamin E.

Honestly, I am usually reluctant to try skincare products that are this affordable due to them sometimes lacking quality ingredients. However Faebey seems to have got the recipe right and proved that this brand is worth it.

Faebey Skin Care Australia

Here's my step-by-step solution to dry skin:

Step 1: Cleanse

Use your favourite facial cleanser - if you haven't found one you love, I'd thoroughly recommend the Faebey Clean Boost Facial Lotion as it gives you gentle exfoliation for a deep clean while eliminating microorganisms that cause inflammation and irritation. It has Kombuchka (known as "immortality tea") and Exfo-Bio (tropical fruit extract - AHA). Especially if you are removing makeup, it's important to do a double-cleanse to make sure you are removing all traces of makeup and pollution for a clean slate!

Step 2: Hyaluronic Soak Up!

I loved the Faebey Skin Drink serum with its beautiful subtle fragrance. It is almost a light gel-like consistency that my skin soaked right up as soon as I applied it, which is one of the reasons I rate this serum. I have used quite a few hyaluronic based serums that do not soak in and seem to just sit on top of the skin.

Step 3: Derma Roller

I also tried infusing this serum with my REGAL derma skin roller a couple of nights a week for further penetration of the product, which worked a treat.

Step 4: Moisturise & Glow

The Faebey Glow Maker moisturiser again has a beautiful subtle fragrance. I find it is really lightweight and smooth, yet still incredibly hydrating. A little also goes a long way. My skin is the most hydrated it has been in a long time!

Hope this helps anyone with their dry skin concerns without spending more than you need to!
